Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your first and last name, business email address, and phone number. The information we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy. 

For mobile app users using single sign on, AlertAware automatically accesses and stores your name, email address and device id for use within the application to send messages related to critical alerts within your organizations, as well as allow single sign on access through your account.

“Sensitive Personal Data” refers to personal data considered more sensitive to the individual.  This can include race and ethnic origin, biometric or genetic information, physical or mental health/insurance information, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union affiliation, political opinions, or sexual orientation. AlertAware does not collect or use Sensitive Personal Data and asks that you do not provide any Sensitive Personal Data to us.

We may collect personal information about you from third party sources, such as our enterprise clients, social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, public sources, service providers, platform partners such as Slack, MS Teams, and third parties to whom you have expressed interest in our products and services, as well as information that you shared on social media platforms (subject to the respective platform terms and applicable laws).

AlertAware only uses your information for the purpose of sending critical alerts and information related to safety incidents within your organizations for which you are registered as well as access to the organization’s safety.   AlertAware never sells or otherwises markets/uses your data for any other purpose.

Location Data

AlertAware mobile apps may request access or permission to and track location-based information from your mobile device either continuously or while you are using the Application.  This information is used only to support geo-targeted messages used by the organization for which you belong.   If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.   AlertAware Mobile and AlertAware named apps are available in both the Google Play and Apple App Store.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data commonly used as unique anonymous identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites you visit and stored on your device’s internal memory.  You can either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

  • To facilitate our Service;
  • To provide the Service on our behalf;
  • To perform Service-related services; or
  • To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please get in touch with us so that we will be able to take the necessary actions.
